We wish you a happy, blessed and fruitful year 2011!
It is a good time to count the blessings of the year. No wonder, Year 2010 is a blessed and fruitful year. Browsing through the blog entries from Jan to Dec 2010, I have realized there are so many things that I have not asked for, yet God provided in His time. I prayed and sought what kind of message that would best describe this year……
“filled the jars with water”, a verse from the Book of John 2:7.
It comes from John 2:1-11. It is about a wedding at Cana and Jesus performed the first miraculous sign, turning water into wine. Jesus attended a wedding with his mother and disciples. When the wine has gone, Jesus’ mother told him that they were running out of wine. So, Jesus told the servants to fill up the six stone jars to the brim. Then, Jesus told them to draw some out of the jar and take it to the master of banquet. After the master tasted the water that had been turned into wine, he did not realize where the wine had come from, but the servants who had drawn knew it well.
The message to me, is to be like the servants, filled the jars with water.
Church & Fellowship
Church Life
I am still attending Hop Yat Church. I helped out a mediation on Via Dolorosa (苦路十四站默想) at Good Friday Service. I was assigned to do some research about poverty and social inequalities in Hong Kong society, so to serve as some background information for the present situation of the poor and needy in our community.
Bible Study Fellowship (BSF)
This is my third year in Bible Study Fellowship. Starting from September, I am studying the Book of Isaiah. It is an enjoyable experience to study Isaiah because it is not easy to understand it by just reading it by myself. The group sharing, lecture and lecture notes help me grow deeper into His words.
HBS! and workplace cell
This year, I joined two more Bible study groups which are totally unexpected, yet, very happy to be in these groups. It is not easy to come together to study God’s word together because different people have different commitments, so we could gather together was already something very thankful. Home Bible Study [HBS!] is an initiative by one of the AACF cell group’s members. We are studying the Book of 1 Peter. Another group is a cell group at workplace, we grouped together to study Book of John and to pray for each other.
Academic work

I will complete my four-year normative requirement at the end of this year. That will mark a new beginning for another stage, i.e., write-up. My progress so far is slow as usual. But thankfully, in July, shortly after the trip to Australia, I completed the first draft of the empirical chapter. There are still a lot to be fine-tuned, yet having a foundation of such kind will facilitate further exploration.
One entry of publication with fatandrewlo. Glad to be part of the data mining.
Travel
Beijing
During Chinese New Year, I went to Beijing with my parents. Last time we visited Beijing together was almost 20 years ago. Thankful that we had good weather, good food and nice accommodation.
Sydney + Canberra
In summer, I went to Australia for a freezing cold “summer vacation”. The trip was one hundred and a million times wonderful!
Family
My parents had their 40th wedding anniversary in November. We invited family members to have a brunch buffet to celebrate together.
Not & Zero + me
- not & zero turned five-year-old this year!
- We helped make an illustration for Janet & Patrick’s 15th wedding anniversary.
- Made an illustration for Project "Inspired"
Not & zero’s illustration book “A Christmas Gift” was released in Dec. Thank God for His providence, the super book production team and our generous sponsors, otherwise, the book will not be published within such a short period of time.

Would it be a miraculous sign? No doubt, the answer is positive. May all glory be to God.
Looking back all these things, just want to give more thanks to God, to my family, and dear friends, simply because I am unworthy for all these kindness and love. Thank you, thank you very much, for being loved and taken care of all the time.
